Strengthening Resilience
Strengthening Resilience
With nearly two decades of dedication to the realms of development and humanitarian work, specializing in disaster risk reduction and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), we have had the privilege of operating in 21 distinct states within India and across 11 diverse countries worldwide. Throughout this extensive journey, we encountered numerous instances that underscored the imperative need to strengthen localization as a means of augmenting the impact and effectiveness of our interventions.
Our odyssey commenced with hands-on experiences, collaborating with communities and local NGOs during the Western Maharashtra Floods in 2019. It became glaringly apparent that there existed a substantial gap in local capacity when it came to mounting timely and efficient responses to disasters, despite the presence of abundant resources. This realization was further reinforced during our response to the Nisarga cyclone in 2020, where we autonomously conducted a rapid needs assessment in the field within an astonishing 72-hour window.
In 2020, subsequent to consultations with seasoned humanitarian professionals, we formally gave birth to Srishti Consultants. Today, we have evolved into a cohesive team of seasoned humanitarian and social experts, actively forging partnerships with seven local NGOs, four national organisations and two networks Our principal focus remains on furnishing technical support for program development, nurturing capacity growth, and fostering knowledge enrichment within these organizations.
